Mini Minds Matter is a 30-minute classroom experience that helps children better understand themselves through original animal poetry, meaningful conversations, and engaging activities.
Each lesson introduces an animal whose unique characteristics become a powerful metaphor for life. Students discover that, just like the animals they study, they have the strength, courage, kindness, and resilience to overcome challenges and make positive choices every day.

Elephants teach children the power of thinking with their hearts. Students learn how to recognize negative thoughts, replace them with kindness and courage, and understand that true strength comes from helping others, making positive choices, and believing in themselves.

Geese remind children that they don't have to face life's journey alone. Students discover the importance of trusting the path ahead, supporting one another, and leading with kindness even when fear or doubt appears. They learn that resting, regrouping, and continuing forward are all part of growing stronger.

Snakes teach children that not every thought deserves to be believed. Students learn how to recognize negative self-talk, let go of unhelpful thinking, and replace it with healthier, more encouraging thoughts. They discover that just as a snake sheds its skin, they can leave behind negative patterns and grow into a stronger, more confident version of themselves.

Chameleons remind children that they don't have to hide who they are to fit in. Students learn that real confidence comes from accepting themselves, expressing their feelings honestly, and building friendships by being genuine rather than changing to please others.

Lions teach children that true strength isn't found in criticizing others, but in showing kindness, patience, and respect. Students learn to quiet judgmental thoughts, choose encouraging words, and discover that compassion is far more powerful than criticism.

Students learn healthy ways to sort through confusing thoughts, recognize their emotions, and respond with confidence and compassion. They discover that balance and resilience help them face challenges with a calm and thoughtful mind.
Mini Minds Matter was created by Brenda Riggs, who has been sharing these original animal poems and lessons with children for more than a decade.
What began as a creative way to help children recognize their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors through the characteristics of animals has grown into a classroom experience that children and their teachers remember long after the lesson is over.
Brenda believes some of life's biggest lessons can be made a little easier for children to understand when they are told through the eyes of an Owl, a Rhinoceros, a Turtle or even a Hyena.
